Rich Taylor, owner and publisher of “”,  has covered sports both locally and nationally for over 25 years via the television, radio, print and internet mediums. Rich’s broadcasting career began as a sports reporter at WOLO-TV in Columbia while still in college at USC before moving to WTVA-TV in Tupelo, MS, where he assumed the duties of weekend sports anchor.

Rich made the move to sports talk radio in 2000, serving as co-host on Sports Talk, Phil Kornblut’s statewide show. The Philadephia, PA native parlayed that experience into afternoon drive gigs at the ESPN and Fox Sports Radio affiliates in Columbia and Las Vegas, respectively.

In addition to covering SEC and ACC sports while in Columbia (primarily USC and Clemson) and the Mountain West (UNLV) while in Vegas, Taylor has broadcast from Radio Row at seven Super Bowls, covered several College World Series in Omaha (including USC’s first National Championship in 2010, the historic last game played at Rosenblatt Stadium), as well as countless NFL and NBA games, NASCAR, The Masters and more.

Looking back, Taylor includes Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Manute Bol, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, former heavyweight boxing champ Joe Frazier (live on TV), NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, and comic Charlie Murphy (brother of Eddie, a semi-regular on his Vegas radio show) as some of his favorite people to interview over the years.

As for his most memorable and cherished experience, Rich says that, without hesitation, it is sharing a cart for a full round of golf at a ESPN charity event with former NASA astronaut Charlie Duke, one of only 12 men in history to walk on the moon. Duke, who Taylor calls “one of the most genuinely kind and unassuming men I have ever met”, graciously endured “four hours of teenage-idol type questions” during that 2005 round at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawley’s Island, S.C.

Taylor is now devoted to making a “unique website where Columbia-area players and coaches have an opportunity present the topics of the day” via video interviews that provide a vehicle to match both faces and personalities with the words of some of the Midlands’ prep scene’s finest .
