Hammond’s Ahlea Myers was her usual reliable self on Wednesday during the Lady Hawks’ 60-19 destruction of First Baptist School in the SCISA AAA state quarterfinals at the Sumter Civic Center.

The Lady Skyhawks’ leading scorer at around 15 ppg, Myers was on fire at the game’s onset, scoring eight early points to help her 20-2 Hammond squad to a 9-0 lead before most of the fans at the 3:30 afternoon start had settled into their seats.

Despite playing limited minutes in the 41-point rout, Myers added three more baskets in the third quarter before giving way to the Hammond reserves, finishing with 14 points to go with five assists and four steals in the impressive victory.

Myers, the Columbia Heart Clinic Hammond Co-Player of the Week, will be back on the court Friday evening when the Lady Skyhawks face Porter-Gaud at 6:30 with a state championship game berth on the line.
