Senior fullback Jacquez Terrell, the CiCi’s Pizza Spring Valley Player of the Week, rushed 10 times for 144 yards and 2 TD’s in last week’s 42-6 win over Lower Richland. A 5-10, 175-pound senior, Terrell and his Viking teammates face rival RNE on Friday at Harry Parone Stadium. Great job, Jacquez!
Spring Valley senior Channing Tindall, one of the nation’s top linebacker recruits, has spearheaded a Vikings defense that has already scored three TD’s in this season’s first two games. Tindall, a physical 6-2, 220-pounder with a potent combination of strength and speed who has narrowed his list to USC, Georgia, Auburn, Notre Dame, Florida and Florida State, talked with MidlandsHighSchoolSports.com following Monday’s practice.
Outside linebacker K’onte Brown, a 5-11, 185-pound senior, was outstanding in Spring Valley’s 42-6 win over Lower Richland last week. Brown was in on 7 total tackles, including 3 TFL to go with a trio of sacks, earning the Viking coaching staff’s defensive player of the week award.
Spring Valley head coach Robin Bacon has led the Vikings to a 2-0 start, winning at Fort Mill (41-7) and at home last Friday against Lower Richland (42-6). His team’s hot start earns him this week’s Crescent Construction Boys Coach of the Week honors. The Vikings will shoot for their third consecutive win Friday when they face rival Richland Northeast, Bacon’s high school alma mater.
