Tight end Sam Hayes, the UNO’s Pizza White Knoll Boys Player of the Week, has been outstanding both blocking and catching the football for the Timberwolves this season. Hayes, a 6-1, 200-pounder who is in his third year as a starter for coach Dean Howell’s squad, had a TD pass called back last week in a 42-10 loss to 5A #1 Dutch Fork. White Knoll quarterback Jacob Jeffcoat, the UNO’s Pizza WK Boys Player of the Week, threw four touchdown passes in his last outing, a heartbreaking 36-35 loss to Irmo in double overtime. On Friday, the Timberwolves (4-2, 1-1) travel to 5A’s top-ranked team, the undefeated (6-0, 2-0) Dutch Fork Silver Foxes. White Knoll cornerback DeAngelo Jacobs, a 5-4, 140-pounder who has been outstanding all season long, is tasked with helping to slow down a potent Dutch Fork passing attack when the Timberwolves (4-2, 1-1) face the 5A top-ranked Silver Foxes (6-0, 2-0) on Friday. We talked with Jacobs before Tuesday’s practice about defending Dutch Fork’s talented WR trio of Bobby Irby, Austin Connor and Ward Hacklen.

Senior OH Kris Heimbuch is a standout player and team leader on and off the court for the White Knoll volleyball squad. Heimbuch, the UNO’s Pizza White Knoll Girls Player of the Week, and her teammates face Lexington on Monday in a critical Region 5-5A match for both teams. Great job, Kris!
White Knoll blasted Spring Valley 38-7 last week in its Region 5-5A opener behind a stifling defense and the running of tailback Maurice Jones. Jones, a 5-7, 165-pound senior with strength, speed and quickness, carried 21 times for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead a punishing Timberwolf ground attack. The T-wolves (4-1, 1-0) play at Irmo (1-5, 0-2) on Friday.

White Knoll kicked off Region 5-5A play with an impressive 38-7 win over Spring Valley (4-2, 1-1) last week. The Timberwolves (4-1, 1-0) continue region play at Irmo (1-5, 0-1) on Friday.
White Knoll linebacker Brandon Serio, the UNO’s Pizza White Knoll Boys Player of the Week, will help lead the T-Wolves (1-1) against Keenan (0-3) on Friday night. Serio, a 6-0, 200-pound inside linebacker in his second year as a starter for coach Dean Howell’s squad, had 16 tackles two weeks ago in a 28-14 loss to South Aiken. Great job, Brandon!
